Audio Converter - MP3 & More (“the App”) is developed by Muhammad Umer. The App converts audio and video files that you choose into formats such as MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, FLAC, and OGG. Conversion happens on your device. We do not upload your files to our servers.

Please also read our Terms of Use.

Summary

  • No account or sign-up is required.
  • Your audio and video files stay on your device unless you choose to share or save them.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • The App does not show ads. Audio Converter Plus is optional, and Apple processes the payment.
  • The App does not use the microphone and does not request permission to track you across other companies’ apps.
  • Anonymous usage analytics and crash reports may be sent to Google Firebase so we can see which features and formats are used and fix failures. File contents and file names are not included.

Files you choose

You can choose audio or video from the Files app, or choose a video with Apple’s photo picker. The App accesses only the items you select. It does not browse your photo library, and it does not read files you did not choose.

The App keeps a private copy of each file you select, on your device, so conversion can finish after the picker closes and so an interrupted batch can continue. Your original in Photos or Files is not deleted. After a file converts successfully, the App removes that private copy. Converted files stay in the App until you delete them.

Conversion

Encoding and format conversion are performed on your device. The audio or video itself is not sent to us or to a conversion service that we operate.

If you leave the App while a conversion is running, the App may keep working in the background. On newer versions of iOS, the system may show a progress notice for that job. If iOS closes the App before a batch finishes, the App saves the list of unfinished files on your device and continues that list the next time you open it. Files that already finished stay in the App. That list, including file names, stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Sharing and saving

If you share a converted file, or save it to the Files app, the App uses the system share sheet or the system file exporter. The file goes only to the app or location you choose, such as Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or a cloud drive. We do not receive a copy, and we do not control how that other app handles the file after you send it.

Purchases

Audio Converter Plus is optional. You can buy a weekly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your card number, billing address, or Apple ID password. Apple may confirm that a purchase or restore succeeded and which product it was. An analytics event may include that product identifier. It does not include payment details.

Information stored on your device

The App stores this information locally:

  • The private copies of files you import, and the files you convert
  • Library details such as file name, size, format, and the date of the conversion
  • The on-device list of a batch that has not finished yet
  • Preferences such as the default output format, quality, and whether you have finished the introduction screens
  • Whether Audio Converter Plus is active on this device, as reported by Apple

This information remains on your device until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. If you use iCloud or another device backup, Apple’s backup may include the App’s local files. We do not operate that backup.

Information we collect

We do not collect your audio, video, file names, contacts, photos, location, or payment information. The App has no user accounts.

When the App is open, it may send the following to Google through Firebase:

  • Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics). Events about which features you open, such as import, browse, batch convert, playback, share, save, settings, and FAQs. Conversion events may include the input format, output format, quality, whether the source was audio or video, whether the conversion was one file or a batch, and how many files in a batch succeeded. Purchase and restore events may include the product identifier, such as weekly, yearly, or lifetime. These events do not include file names, the contents of your files, or payment details.
  • Crash and failure reports (Firebase Crashlytics). If the App crashes, or a conversion fails, a diagnostic report may include the device model, operating system version, app version, and a technical error description. These reports are used to fix the App. They do not include your audio or video.
  • Remote configuration (Firebase Remote Config). The App may request settings from Firebase, such as whether a purchase screen is shown. This request does not include your files or payment details.

Firebase may process technical identifiers such as an app instance identifier, IP address, device model, language, and rough region derived from the IP address. We do not use these identifiers to identify you by name, and we do not link them to an Apple ID. We do not use Apple’s advertising identifier, and the App does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Google’s processing of this data is described at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

How we use this information

We use analytics to understand which features and output formats people use, so we can improve the App. We use crash reports to find and fix failures. We use remote configuration to control optional purchase screens. We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Ratings

After a successful conversion, Apple may ask you to rate the App. That request is shown by Apple. We do not receive the text of your review through the App.

Third-party services

  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — usage analytics
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash and conversion-failure reports
  • Firebase Remote Config (Google) — settings such as whether a purchase screen is shown
  • Apple — the Files picker, the photo picker, the share sheet, saving to Files, system conversion progress, the App Store rating prompt, and in-app purchases and subscriptions, including payment, renewal, and restore

The App does not include advertising networks or a developer-operated cloud for your media.

Your choices

  • You choose every file the App opens.
  • You can cancel a conversion that is still running.
  • You can delete a converted file inside the App.
  • You can choose not to buy Audio Converter Plus. A subscription can be managed or canceled in your App Store account settings.
  • Uninstalling the App removes its local files from the device, except copies kept by an iOS backup or by an app you already shared to.
  • You can limit analytics and diagnostics on the device by uninstalling the App. Because these reports are not tied to your name, we cannot look up one person’s events from an email address.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International processing

Firebase is operated by Google. Analytics and crash reports may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates. Your media files are not part of that processing. Purchase payments are processed by Apple.

Changes

We may update this policy when the App changes. The date at the top will change when we do. Please also read our Terms of Use.
